On 5 May 2005, CSIRO announced the implementation of the Flagships Collaboration Fund (FCF). The Fund, as part of the Federal Government’s ‘Backing Australia’s Ability – Building our Future through Science and Innovation’ package, will invest $96.8m over seven years to support collaborative research geared to contribute to the objectives of CSIRO’s National Research Flagships Program (PDF file 2,615kb). The Flagships are targeted initially at six fields of national endeavour: • Preventative Health • Light Metals • Food Futures • Energy Transformed • Water for a Healthy Country • Wealth from Oceans During 2005/6 some $8.75m will be available across three components of the Fund. The components and key points are as follows, with further details in the linked flyers and guidelines (where available): 1. Flagship Collaborative Research Program, comprised of:
• Flagship clusters - minimum $1 million. APPLICATIONS CLOSE 30/6/05 • Flagship projects - minimum $100,000. The Flagship Collaborative Research Program Guidelines are now available [PDF file, 59 Kb].
2. Flagship Visiting Fellowships - APPLICATIONS FOR SEMESTER 2, 2005 CLOSE ON 10/6/05. Guidelines are available now (PDF file, 42kb). 3.
