Research Integrity
| Research Integrity incorporates Human Research Ethics, Animal Ethics and Biological Safety. These sections are coordinated by Deputy Director, Research Services, Ms Susan Lewis.
The Research Integrity Office is responsible for administration and policy issues relating to experimentation on human participants and animals, and for biological safety. Administrative staff receive and process research applications for consideration by the Human Research Ethics Committee, the Animal Ethics Committee, and the Institutional Biosafety Committee, in order to ensure procedural and policy compliance with State Government legislation and associated regulations.
Closly associated with Research Integrity is the Animal Care Unit which is responsible for ensuring the high quality care of all animals approved for research, teaching and breeding purposes. The Unit is accountable to the Animal Ethics Committee for welfare associated issues, and to the Board of Animal Facilities for financial management.
