Research Integrity
| Research Integrity and Animal Care incorporates Human Research Ethics, Animal Ethics, Biological Safety and the Animal Care Unit. These sections are coordinated by the Manager of Research Integrity and Animal Care, Ms Susan Lewis.
The Research Integrity Office is responsible for administration and policy issues relating to experimentation on human participants and animals, and for biological safety. Administrative staff receive and process research applications for consideration by the Human Research Ethics Committee, the Animal Ethics Committee, and the Institutional Biosafety Committee, in order to ensure procedural and policy compliance with State Government legislation and associated regulations.
The Animal Care Unit is responsible for ensuring the high quality care of all animals approved for research, teaching and breeding purposes. The Unit is accountable to the Animal Ethics Committee for welfare associated issues, and to the Board of Animal Facilities for financial management.
