Research Services is an academic service directorate of the Registrar's Office which is responsible for providing policy advice and administrative support to the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research & Innovation) and the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research & Research Training) and associated committees. Research Services includes the following areas:
Research Grants Office
Responsible for: externally funded research grants; postdoctoral fellowships and travel awards administered by UWA; Research Committee and its various schemes; research contracts; research applications database; Research Services web site; and Community of Science databases and funding alerts.
Research Development
Responsible for: Research publications collection; UWA centres; projects on research quality assessment; providing strategic advice to researchers on issues related to external research funding; assisting with the establishment of strategic research collaborations within UWA; facilitating cross-disciplinary communication.
Graduate Research & Scholarships Office
Responsible for: providing administrative support to the Board of the Graduate Research School and the Scholarships Committee; administering all aspects of research higher degree (by thesis) candidature; and award of scholarships for postgraduate research.
Research Integrity
Responsible for: administration and policy issues relating to experimentation on human participants and on animals, and for genetic manipulation and biosafety; processing research applications for consideration by the Human Research Ethics Committee, the Animal Ethics Committee, and the Institutional Biosafety Committee to ensure procedural and policy compliance with State Government legislation and associated Regulations.
Animal Care Unit
The Animal Care Unit is responsible for ensuring the high quality care of all animals approved for research and teaching.

Research Services is undertaking a project to implement a Research Management System to be named eRM
