The Research Integrity Office is responsible for administration and policy issues relating to experimentation on human participants and animals and for biological safety.
Research Integrity incorporates:
- Human research ethics, managed by the Human Research Ethics Office
- Animal ethics, managed by the Animal Ethics Office
- Biological safety, managed by the Biosafety Office.
These sections are coordinated by Deputy Director, Research Services, Ms Susan Lewis.
Administrative staff receive and process research applications for consideration by the Human Research Ethics Committee, the Animal Ethics Committee, and the Biosafety Committee to ensure procedural and policy compliance with State and Federal Government legislation and associated regulations.
Closely associated with Research Integrity is Animal Care Services, which is responsible for ensuring the high-quality care of all animals approved for research, teaching and breeding purposes.
