As a researcher at UWA there are many grants, awards, fellowships and schemes open to you.
Internal funding
- Supplementary Travel Grants:
- Open - Applications may be submitted at any time throughout the year but they must be received at least two months before the conference.
- Safety Net Scheme:
- Open - Bridging support to fund the salary of key personnel normally supported by external research grant income but where an individual or group has failed to obtain continued funding for the position.
- UWA Support for Developing Partnerships for ARC Linkage Projects:
- Open - Applications may be submitted at any time.
- Postdoctoral Research Fellowships:
- Open - The Call for the 2010 round is January 2010. The closing date is April 2010
- Re-Entry Postdoctoral Research Fellowships.
Closed - Advertisements calling for applications appear in The West Australian and The Australian’s Higher Education Supplement in late August of early September each year, with applications closing in late October. - Research Development Awards:

- CSIRO Flagship Collaboration Fund:
- The Flagship Collaboration Fund includes a contestable collaborative research program, visiting fellowships and postgraduate scholarships.
- National Health and Medical Research Council:

- National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Stragey (NCRIS):
- A total of $542 million will provide researchers with access to major research facilities and the supporting infrastructure and networks necessary to undertake world-class research.

Go8 Schemes
- Australia Germany Joint Research Cooperation Scheme (DAAD):
- The Scheme fosters research collaboration between Australian researchers from Go8 universities and German researchers.
- Go8 European Fellowships:
- The Group of Eight offers eight annual fellowships (worth A$20,000) to early career researchers in Europe to work in Go8 universities for up to six months.
