The objective of the electronic Research Managment (eRM) project is to successfully implement on time and on budget the InfoEd suite of research management modules.

The InfoEd system represents a comprehensive suite of research management modules, covering grants, ethics and environmental safety, clinical trials, and expertise management. UWA has selected InfoEd to provide a corporate solution for the provision of accurate information on research conducted at UWA, and for reporting on regulatory compliance.

The University community will be kept informed at all stages of the system's implementation so that the module roll-out embraces optimal functionality to enhance business process and minimise commercial and compliance risk. The business needs and requirements of the University are summarised as follows:

  • Provide accurate and timely information on research conducted at UWA.
  • Ensure compliance with the laws and statutes of the regulatory authorities.
  • Monitor the research income awarded to the University from a variety of sources.

Human subjects

The eRM project team is in the process of implementing the fifth module of the InfoEd system, Human Subjects Development. This provides an online portal for researchers to prepare, submit and track their human ethics protocol applications.

Throughout this process, the team are seeking interested academic and professional staff to join the Stakeholder Reference Group to provide feedback.
