Gradual rollout of InfoEd

The Human Research Ethics Office has been involved in the gradual rollout of the InfoEd system; a project that is being led by the InfoEd implementation team.

When fully implemented, the InfoEd RMS will provide a facility for all researchers to lodge on-line human research ethics applications and to perform other management functions for their research projects. In fact, following completion of the rollout, all human ethics applications will be submitted via InfoEd.

The Human Subjects Development module within InfoEd is specifically designed to enable researchers to create an electronic human research ethics application, and then track the application’s progress through the authorisation, submission, ethics review and approval process.

Transition period

During the rollout period, some researchers will be using the InfoEd system to submit their ethics applications, whilst other researchers will continue to submit human research ethics application documents, via their Head of School, by attaching their documents to an email submission.

Gradually, more researchers will be using the InfoEd system, which will replace the old method of submitting ethics applications as electronic documents attached to an email.

You will not need to use the InfoEd system until the rollout reaches your School and, at that time, comprehensive support and assistance will be available to you.
