This award is designed to acknowledge outstanding performance and leadership potential by Early Career researchers, and aims to recognise those establishing independent research careers.

Award

In total, 67 applications were received, with the vast majority of an excellent standard. As the selection committee noted a particularly high number of high-quality applications, they chose to recognise two categories:

Six awards were given to the most Outstanding Young Investigators, each receiving individual awards of $2,000.

Five awards were also given for High Achievement, with each winner receiving $1,000.

Performance was evaluated relative to opportunity and applicants were chosen on the basis of their achievements.
